Coaching with Living Systems

We have a team of qualified and experienced associate coaches who have skills in working with living systems design principles.

Nature teaches us about resilience, supports wellbeing and offers inspiration to help sort out tangled relationships or grow new ventures. In living systems coaching we pay attention to the systems around us: to climate, culture and sense of place.
We pay attention to what is flourishing, what needs more shelter and what perhaps is planted in the wrong place. What weeds are blocking our peace of mind or action? What pests do we need to watch out for? Who are the pollinators bringing us new ideas? How do we celebrate a good harvest by noticing what we are grateful for, measuring and learning from what we have produced and sharing it with others?
Living systems remind us that collaboration with nature and each other makes us more resilient – in our bodies, our minds, our communities and the organisations in which we work.

If you are an individual or an organisation wanting to work with living systems coaches, email annie@thenatureeffect.co.uk to discuss what you are looking for.

Our Coaches

Anne Davy

Coach

I am a senior coach and facilitator with 14 years’ experience, working mainly with leaders in social purpose organisations, trading charities and the public sector, particularly health and social care. I am an Associate Coach with Clore Social Leadership.

My coaching is grounded in the realities of everyday work. Drawing on extensive experience developing large teams and founding organisations, I support clients with professional effectiveness, relationships, confidence, and transitions into new or changing roles. I work instinctively with living systems as a metaphor for healthy organisations and individual wellbeing, and I always include the natural world for the insight it brings to leadership, growth and sustainability.

I balance practical, outcome-focused coaching with embodied, mindfulness and transactional analysis practices, encouraging clients to step beyond their comfort zones while tailoring my approach to individual needs.

Sarah Stewart-Brown

Coach

I came to coaching later in life after a career teaching, training, researching and practicing public health. It was a rewarding, if exhausting career that led me eventually to explore wellbeing and embodiment from a personal as well as professional perspective. I discovered that much of what I had learnt as a doctor needed to be unlearnt and the ways in which poor health and disease could be approached from different perspectives. I now get great pleasure in using this knowledge to coach others in a range of careers and work situations to greater wellbeing. I also work with clients with chronic illnesses. Embodiment, it turns out, is an important wellbeing skill and one that is inherently trainable. And nature connection is a great place to start.

Isobel McConnen

Coach

We all need welcoming spaces to pause, feel grounded, and reconnect with what matters. In my coaching, I offer just this kind of space. I am an experienced coach and thinking partner, supporting people to create a kinder, more equitable, and sustainable world.

Clients work with me at times of significant transition—developing confidence, presence, and personal authority in their leadership; building resilience and wellbeing through change; and strengthening relational and communication skills. I am continually inspired as people reconnect with what brings them alive and how they want to show up in the world.

Shaped by my own experience of unexpected change, I bring empathy and respect for each individual’s unique journey. As your coach, I accompany you as a partner, inviting body, heart, and mind into the conversation, alongside the wider human and natural systems we’re part of.

I am a Senior Coach Practitioner (EMCC accredited) with over 400 hours of coaching experience. I am an associate coach and supervisor with Catalyst 14.
