After 16 months of dreaming, planning, talking to the local community and working around obstacles to convince the County Council we have a realistic, innovative, sustainable vision for the future of this centre, We are delighted to say that the community-supported bid was agreed by Cabinet on 19th September. Now the work begins to create an open-access and community-owned place for people from all walks of life to come together to eat, play, learn. We are now working with Aspire Oxford Charity and the local stakeholder steering group to help create a centre which will be open-access for all, with a good food cafe, work space, training space and creative spaces, as well as a separate 24-place nature and play-focused nursery. Nature in mind, and wellbeing at heart. You can read the latest news, leaflets and call to action and how you might get involved here Florence Park Children’s Centre latest.
